A similar effort goes into our nation's electoral system. People rally around their respective candidate and put forth an effort like some have never seen before - or at least since the last election.

Now imagine if this same kind of energy and effort could go into supporting the many organizations which do so much for our community. This month we begin the "season for giving," as many galas are being planned. You will read about many events taking place in your community in this and future issues. I encourage you to make a difference by sponsoring or attending, or supporting any of these worthwhile causes.

You will also read stories on other residents who are making a difference and events where you can become actively involved in sponsoring or participating. In addition, I trust you will find our Dining, Lifestyle Advice and Travel columns enlightening. Of course, there are the many Scene Pages full of photographs of neighbors and friends to enjoy.

This month we continue to expand the growth of Lifestyle Magazines on the West Coast of Florida with Estero Lifestyle. This is a place just north of Naples and south of Fort Myers. The residents of Estero mirror our Lifestyle Magazine readers and are very involved in their community. I am looking forward to attending the charity events this season and meeting our West Coast neighbors.

As Lifestyle Magazines moves into our eighth year, I am grateful for the team we have assembled to help make a difference in our community, while at the same time, building the brand reputation of our advertising partners. This has been a team effort and every member has made a significant contribution to ensure you continue to Enjoy the Lifestyle ™

To all my Gator and Seminole friends, I just have to highlight the fact that "The U" - University of Miami - has the distinction of being ranked number one in the State by US News & World Report. See you on the football field as well.
